About Jennifer
I have practiced exclusively in the area of family law since 1998 representing clients in a wide range of matrimonial, parentage and family law matters. Almost all of my clients are referrals from past clients and other attorneys and professionals.
I approaches every case in a practical, straightforward manner in order to achieve the most favorable, efficient and cost-effective results for my clients. I recognize that every client has unique circumstances and handle each case differently, but always with the client's goals in mind. I settle cases in a traditional or collaborative fashion when appropriate and, when not, I am prepared to take the case to trial.
A team approach is important to me and I works in close collaboration with my clients encouraging them to be focused on the future. My goal is to put each client on a path to financial and emotional security. To this end, I provide my clients with the tools necessary to help them construct a solid foundation on which to navigate the next chapters of their lives.
For my undergraduate studies, I attended Tufts University in Boston majoring in Social Psychology and German. After a year working as a paralegal in New York City, I moved to Chicago to attend law school. I graduated from DePaul University College of Law in 1998 and began my legal career working for a boutique law firm in Chicago specializing in family law. In 2009, drawn to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, I moved to Seattle. After initially practicing family law at K&L Gates, LLC, I opened my own firm in 2012.
I am admitted to practice in both Washington and Illinois and am trained in collaborative law. I am a volunteer mediator with the King County Volunteer Settlement Conference program and former Content Editor for the Domestic Relations Chapter of the Washington Lawyers Practice Manual.
